A man began preaching about the sins of our students, telling us we were all going to hell. Explaining that women should be submissive and controlled, bad mouthing sororities and calling their members “whores carrying yeast infections.” A group of students banded together and began asking him questions. Another group stood around him with signs that read, “Christianity: You’re doing it wrong,” “Heathens for life,” and “Masturbation is fun!” The protest attracted police officers, afraid that violence would erupt, but the students remained calmer than the man himself. They continued to argue with him using rationale rather than screaming and fighting. Eventually they talked the man down, and the hundreds of student that had been attracted to the protest began chanting, “My God doesn’t hate!”
